Job Description
Mt Gravatt Private Hospital is a state of the art ophthalmic day hospital that opened in January ****. We aim to provide the highest level of quality care on an individual basis and are focused on providing world class, outstanding patient care. We are a dedicated and friendly team seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team within our day hospital.

About the Role
n
As Director of Nursing, you will provide clinical leadership and operational oversight of our nursing services, ensuring the delivery of safe, high quality and patient centred care.
n
Working closely with the hospital leadership team, Visiting Medical Officer's and our nursing staff, you will be responsible for maintaining high clinical standards while fostering a positive, supportive and accountable workplace culture.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Providing strong clinical and professional leadership to the nursing team
n
Overseeing the day-to-day nursing operations of a two-theatre day hospital
n
Ensuring high standards of patient safety, clinical governance and quality care
n
Supporting, mentoring and developing nursing staff
n
Managing staffing, rostering and workforce requirements
n
Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, accreditation and clinical standards
n
Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals
n
Supporting continuous improvement, risk management and quality initiatives
n
Contributing to the strategic direction and ongoing development of the hospital
n
Being a visible and approachable leader who is prepared to work alongside the team when required
n
n
About you
n
You will be an experienced nurse leader who combines strong clinical knowledge with excellent people and operational skills.
n
You will have:
n
n
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
At least 3 years' experience in a senior nursing leadership role
n
Experience within a day hospital, private hospital, perioperative or surgical environment
n
Strong understanding of clinical governance, accreditation and quality standards
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
A collaborative and supportive leadership style
n
The ability to balance clinical priorities with operational requirements
n
A genuine commitment to patient-centred care and staff development
n
