Workshop Estimator

At TS Global, we're known for delivering innovative conveyor and materials handling solutions to some of Australia's largest industrial operations. To support continued growth in our workshop services, we are seeking a practical and commercially mind Workshop Estimator to join our NSW Team.
n
This role is responsible for prepare accurate and competitive quotations for a broad range of workshop-based fabrication, refurbishment and repair activities. Working closely with operations, sales, suppliers and customers you will assess labour, material and production requirements to develop estimates and lead-times that reflect current workshop capabilities and deliver profitable outcomes.
n
The successful candidate will combine strong technical understanding with commercial awareness, ensuring quotations are accurate, competitive and aligned with customer requirements.

This position is ideally suited to an experience Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand, Tradesperson or Estimator looking to transition from hands-on workshop workplace into a production support role. Your practical knowledge of fabrication, mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and repair activities will be highly valued

What You'll Be Doing
n
n
Preparing estimates and quotations for workshop for a wide range of jobs
n
Preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for small to medium workshop fabrications, refurbishment and repair jobs.
n
Reviewing drawings, specifications and client requirements to determine labour materials and subcontractor costs.
n




Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor pricing to support competitive quotations.
n
Liaising with workshop operations and sale teams to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
n
Assessing manufacturing methods, material selections and workshop process to ensure estimates accurately reflect current workshop capabilities.
n
Identify commercial risk, quotation exclusions and opportunities to improve competitiveness and profitability.
n
Maintain estimating records and supporting continuous improvement of estimating and cost process
n

What We're Looking For
n
n
Experience in estimating, cost quoting or workshop supervision within a manufacturing fabrication, mechanical repair or industrial environment.
n
Strong understanding of workshop fabrication, refurbishment, repair and maintenance activities.
n
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and customer requirements.
n
Sound knowledge of workshop labour costings, material pricing and manufacturing processes.
n
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance competitiveness and profitability.
n




High level of attention to detail and accuracy in preparing quotation and estimates.
n
Experience using ERP, estimating, job costings or workshop management systems.
n
A trade qualification in fabrication, mechanical fitting or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
