Job Description
As a Senior Java Developer reporting to Director - Software Engineering, you'll take end-to-end ownership of meaningful technical challenges - from understanding requirements to shipping production-ready solutions. You'll work across backend systems, security, and cross-platform development, contributing to both new builds and the evolution of existing products. Key Responsibilities
n
n
Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that meet or exceed product and client requirements
n
Build and maintain security-focused applications of increasing scope and complexity
n
Extend and improve existing systems - adding functionality, enhancing performance, and adapting to new environments
n
Ensure cross-platform compatibility across all deliverables
n
Monitor system improvements post-deployment and iterate based on performance outcomes
n
Contribute to architecture, database design, and technical direction as needed
n
n
Required Qualifications
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience
n
At least 3 years solid, hands-on Java development skills with a solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms
n
Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases - including design, analysis, and querying
n
Proven experience with continuous integration and deployment practices
n
Demonstrated ability to write secure, testable,



and maintainable code
n
Experience with cross-platform or multi-environment development
n
n
Preferred Qualifications
n
n
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
n
Experience with data warehousing or large-scale data systems
n
Background or interest in application security best practices
n
n
This position will be located in Sydney, Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office (may increase to 3 days in the future). This is a permanent, full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply, you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
