We are currently seeking applications for Finance and Payroll Officers to join the Department for Treasury and Finance (DTF) through our recruitment pool.
This cohort will be used to fill roles across Payroll, Taxation, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Customer Service functions, based at our Adelaide CBD and Port Adelaide locations.

About your branch
Shared Services SA (SSSA) delivers essential payroll, finance, taxation and business system services that support South Australian Government agencies.
By providing reliable services across payroll, accounts payable and receivable, taxation, financial accounting and work injury management, SSSA enables agencies to focus on delivering outcomes for the community.
Working behind the scenes, SSSA is committed to providing timely, accurate and contemporary services, supported by strong customer service and a focus on quality.
About the Opportunity
This cohort will be used to fill temporary roles across:
Payroll
Taxation
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Customer Service and client support
These roles are critical to ensuring accurate processing,



timely payments, and high-quality service to government agencies, employees and external stakeholders.
You'll work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where accuracy is critical and some tasks are repetitive.
Success in this role requires resilience, solid attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Suitable applicants will be invited to attend an assessment centre to assess skills and suitability for Shared Services roles.
Successful applicants will be placed in a merit pool to fill vacancies across Shared Services over a 12-month period.
Remuneration
ASO2 ($66,442 - $69,504 p.a.) + 12% Superannuation
What you will do
Depending on the role and team, you may:
Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and shared inboxes
Process payroll, taxation and financial transactions in line with legislation and policy
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including reconciliations
Enter and maintain information in corporate systems
Investigate and resolve discrepancies following established procedures
Work collaboratively in a structured, process driven environment
Handle high volume tasks with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
What you bring
We're seeking people with a strong mix of customer service, attention to detail and process discipline.

An interest in payroll, finance, administration or customer service,



combined with a willingness to learn, adapt and develop new skills.
A customer-focused approach and ability to solve problems with empathy and professionalism
Clear communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Confidence using systems and learning new tools
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
A positive, team focused approach
Resilience and the ability to stay focused in a fast paced, high-volume environment
Comfort working with structured processes and repetitive tasks
You don't need experience in every area — we value transferable skills and capability.
