Full-time Painter position available in Redfern **** Our client is an Australian rope-access, building maintenance and remedial services company established in ****.
Based in Redfern, Sydney, the company undertakes projects throughout Australia and provides specialist services including building fa ade maintenance, painting and rendering, high-pressure and soft washing, window cleaning, height safety systems, inspections and remedial works.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join their team and contribute for their ongoing success.
The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and finishing internal and external surfaces, including building fa ades, rendered surfaces, structural steel and other structures.
Some projects may involve high-rise or difficult-access environments using ladders, scaffolding, elevated work platforms and rope-access systems, subject to appropriate training, certification and supervision.
Position Responsibilities and Tasks: Inspect and prepare internal and external surfaces, including fa ades, render, concrete, timber, metal and structural steel, by removing existing coatings, scraping, sanding, cleaning, filling cracks and imperfections, smoothing, sealing and priming.
Protect surrounding areas using drop sheets, masking, barriers and other appropriate measures.
Select, mix and apply paints, primers, varnishes, stains and protective coatings including texture, epoxy and anti-graffiti products using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
Undertake painting and remedial finishing works on residential,
commercial and industrial structures, including high-rise and difficult-access locations.
Use ladders, scaffolding and other access systems and, where appropriately trained and authorised, undertake painting using rope-access systems.
Follow project specifications, product instructions, Protected Work Method Statements, risk assessments and workplace health and safety requirements.
Inspect completed work, rectify imperfections, maintain painting equipment and leave work areas clean and safe.
Work cooperatively with supervisors, rope-access technicians, clients and other trades to ensure projects are completed safely and to the required standard.
Qualifications and Skills: Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or an equivalent relevant qualification; alternatively, substantial relevant painting experience may be considered.
At least one year of relevant experience as a Painter, preferably in commercial, remedial, fa ade or high-access painting.
Demonstrated experience preparing surfaces and applying paint and protective coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
Ability to accurately mix and apply paint and coating products in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
Confidence to work safely at heights and in outdoor, high-rise and difficult-access environments.
Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $79,500 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
