Exciting opportunity within a major Federal Government transformation program Contract through to 30 June **** with a 12-month extension option Drive vulnerability management and cyber resilience initiatives across complex enterprise environments A Federal Government Department is seeking a Vulnerability Management Specialist to support the ongoing enhancement of its Security Operations Centre and Cyber Threat Vulnerability capability.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, assessing, prioritising, and driving the remediation of cyber security vulnerabilities across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical cyber security function within a highly secure government environment.
The successful Vulnerability Management Specialist will be offered an initial contract through to 30 June **** with a 12-month extension option .
The successful Vulnerability Management Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to: Managing and optimising vulnerability management platforms, scanners, dashboards, and associated security tooling.
Conducting vulnerability assessments and analysing findings from vulnerability scans, threat intelligence, and security reviews.
Driving remediation activities by working closely with system owners, infrastructure teams, and technical stakeholders.
Investigating emerging vulnerabilities, exploits,
and cyber threats to assess potential impacts and risks.
Developing reports, dashboards, playbooks, and metrics to support risk-based security decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives The successful Vulnerability Management Specialist will have experience in the following: Demonstrated experience in cyber security vulnerability management, vulnerability assessment, or security operations within complex enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience administering and optimising vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management, Qualys or similar technologies.
Strong understanding of vulnerability lifecycle management, including identification, validation, prioritisation, remediation, and risk acceptance processes.
Experience analysing vulnerability data and providing risk-based recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
Robust communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and influence remediation outcomes within secure or highly regulated environments This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in strengthening cyber security resilience and vulnerability management capabilities within a large-scale government environment.
