Long-term Federal Government contract – up to 3 years Databricks Microsoft Fabric opportunities Hybrid roles across ACT, NSW, VIC QLD One of Australia's leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage multiple experienced Lead Data Engineers to design, develop and support enterprise-scale data solutions using Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric .
The successful Lead Data Engineers will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 2 x 12-month extension options , with opportunities across ACT, NSW, VIC and QLD .
The successful Lead Data Engineers will play a key role in delivering scalable data pipelines, Lakehouse architectures and enterprise data solutions that support analytics, reporting, artificial intelligence and machine learning outcomes.
The successful Lead Data Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to: Design and develop enterprise data pipelines.
Build Lakehouse and data warehouse solutions.
Develop scalable ELT/ETL processes.
Implement data quality and governance controls.
Support analytics and AI/ML workloads.




The successful Lead Data Engineers will have experience in the following: Strong Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric experience.
Advanced Python, PySpark and SQL skills.
Experience with Lakehouse and Medallion architectures.
Strong data integration and modelling experience.
Experience with Azure and cloud data services.
Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2 , data governance and enterprise AI/ML workloads will be highly regarded.
