We're looking for a creative and hands-on Instructional Designer to develop and improve face-to-face, blended and online learning for a large, operational workforce.
6-12 month contract Hybrid role Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay or Townsville will be considered About the role: This is a genuine design and development role – you'll be creating, refreshing and improving learning materials rather than simply coordinating training.
This is a 6 month contract with flexibility around work location within Queensland.
Locations may include Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay or Townsville, with other Queensland locations considered.
What you'll be doing Working alongside an instructional design team, subject matter experts and key stakeholders, you will: Design and develop engaging eLearning courses using tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline Refresh and uplift existing online learning content Develop presentation decks, facilitator guides and learner resources Create activities, assessments and visual learning assets Translate technical or complex information into clear, practical adult learning Work with subject matter experts to understand learning needs and shape effective solutions Balance multiple pieces of work while managing allocated tasks autonomously Ensure learning materials are practical, visually engaging and appropriate for the target workforce What we're looking for You'll ideally bring 2–5 years of professional instructional design experience , along with: Demonstrated experience designing adult workplace learning Hands-on experience with Articulate Rise and/or Storyline Experience with Canva is desirable, while strong visual design skills and the ability to quickly pick up new design tools will be highly regarded.




Strong written communication and visual design capability Experience developing both digital and facilitated learning materials Confidence working with subject matter experts and translating their knowledge into engaging learning Robust stakeholder engagement, collaboration and negotiation skills The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of your deliverables Highly Regarded Qualifications in Training Design and Development or a related discipline Experience designing learning for blue-collar or operational workforces Exposure to construction, infrastructure, transport, trades or safety-focused environments Experience simplifying technical or compliance-heavy information into practical learning **Please note that A portfolio must be submitted with your application.
