Northern Sydney Cataract is a leading specialist ophthalmology practice based in modern rooms in Northbridge on Sydney's Lower North Shore. For over a decade we've built a strong reputation for clinical excellence, personalised care and close relationships with optometrists, GPs and other health professionals.

As the first point of contact, you'll create a positive impression for every patient and referrer, ensuring they feel welcomed, informed and supported throughout their visit.
n
You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative team led by a hands‐on Practice Manager who values open communication, continuous improvement and recognising everyone's contribution.
n
About the Role
n
As a Practice Administrator, you will play a key role in the daily operation and continued success of our specialist practice while delivering a consistently high standard of service to our patients and referrers.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Welcoming patients and providing a professional and caring first impression
n
Managing patient enquiries by phone and coordinating appointments and recalls
n
Coordinating surgical bookings and admission paperwork
n
Processing patient registrations, billing, Medicare and Health Fund claims
n
Triaging referral and incoming correspondence
n
Liaising with surgeons, hospitals, optometrists, GPs and other healthcare providers
n
Maintaining accurate electronic medical records
n
Providing administrative support to our team of seven ophthalmic surgeons
n
Contributing to the efficient day‐to‐day operation of the practice
n
n
About You
n
You genuinely care about people and understand the importance of making every patient feel welcomed, respected and supported. You enjoy working in a busy environment and take pride in delivering outstanding service.
n
Ideally, you will have:
n
n
Previous experience in an ophthalmology or specialist medical practice (highly desirable)
n
A minimum of one years experience in medical reception and administration
n
Excellent communication and customer service skills
n
A warm, professional and compassionate manner
n
Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
n
The ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy workplace
n
High-level computer skills and confidence learning recent software
n
A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
n
Professional presentation and a commitment to high standards
n
Knowledge of Shexie software (highly regarded)
n
