The Secondary School Teacher is a critical member of the Academic Team. The role is primarily responsible for:
n

Deliver engaging and effective lessons that foster student learning, criticalthinking, and a love for learning.
n
Provide pastoral care and guidance to support students' academic,social, and emotional growth.
n
Uphold strong classroom management practices to ensure a safe,respectful, and inclusive space for all students.
n
Work closely with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community toenhance student outcomes and school culture.
n
Demonstrate ethical conduct, commitment to professional development,and alignment with the Christian values and educational ethos of theCollege.
n
Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture that supportsstudent engagement and growth.

Experience
n
n
Proven experience teaching at the secondary school level, ideally including Years 7–12.
n
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing curriculum in alignment with the NSWcurriculum
n
Experience in assessing and reporting on student learning, using a variety of tools andstrategies.
n
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive, supportive
learningenvironment.
n
Competence in using technology and digital tools to enhance student engagement andlearning outcomes.
n
Participation in co-curricular or extracurricular activities, camps, or school events
n
Four-year tertiary qualifications such as Bachelor of Education or equivalent
n




Conditional, provisional or proficient registration with NESA
n
First aid certification
n
NSW Working with Children Check
n
Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
n
