About the role
The Early Childhood Support Officer supports the Early Childhood (EC) team to work with families and primary caregivers of children younger than 6 with developmental delay and children younger than 9 with disability.
The Early Childhood approach supports families to help children develop the skills they need to take part in daily activities and achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their life.
This position is responsible for performing administrative functions with accuracy and timeliness and supports the delivery of NDIS EC program, including effective data entry and effective administrative support.
The Early Childhood Support Officer provides customer support to families and referrers through a reception function by taking initial enquiries and transferring calls to the appropriate team member as required.
Key responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Area Manager, Team Leader and Early Childhood team members such as preparing correspondence, photocopying, scanning and filing
Provide reception support and customer support by taking initial enquiries and transferring calls to the appropriate team member as required
Coordinate and schedule appointments for Early Childhood Coordinators according to the priority needs of the children and families within the service
Manage and maintain the calendar booking system in Microsoft Outlook to ensure availability for meetings
Record communication within the client management system accurately and efficiently
Communicate and monitor any children and families without appointments and ensure appropriate action is taken so that appointments can be scheduled
Provide assistance, information and support to families and carers in reference to allocation and rescheduling of appointments
Add client information into the database as appropriate and complete tasks within PACE to support workflow and data requirements




Enter Early Childhood Coordinator daily data into the LCHS data system, ensuring it is accurate and completed according to timeframes set
Gather information to support plan implementation and utilisation as requested by EC staff under direction from the Area Manager
About you
Experience with customer service in a busy environment
Experience in data entry and administration
Experience in working within the early childhood, paediatric or a community or human services setting
Skilled in organisation, time management, planning and priority setting in a busy and rapidly changing environment
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and accurately with a range of people
Adept computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs and the internet
Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain)
Desirable: Qualifications in administrative functions or business administration
