Eastern suburbs privately owned (over two sites ) is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join our healthcare management team. This is a full-time position based in Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, NSW. The Practice Manager will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our general practice, ensuring efficient service delivery, optimal patient experiences, and compliance with all healthcare regulations. This position is essential to the successful functioning of our practice and directly impacts our ability to provide quality healthcare services to our community.
Key responsibilities
Overseeing the daily operations of the general practice, including scheduling, staffing, and resource management
Managing practice finances, budgets, billing and invoicing systems to ensure financial sustainability
Recruiting, training, supervising and appraising practice staff to maintain a professional and motivated team
Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes and compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
Coordinating patient services, managing appointments and ensuring optimal patient satisfaction
Liaising with healthcare providers, suppliers and external organisations to support clinical operations
Maintaining accurate medical records, practice documentation and administrative systems
Developing and implementing practice policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and service quality
Managing health and safety requirements and ensuring a safe working environment for staff and patients
Reporting on practice performance metrics and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Practice Manager or in a similar healthcare management role within a general practice or medical facility
Strong understanding of healthcare operations, general practice management and relevant regulatory requirements
Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, invoicing and financial reporting experience
Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a healthcare setting
Proficiency with practice management software and electronic health record systems
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, patients and external stakeholders
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare compliance standards, including privacy legislation
Problem-solving skills and the ability to implement practical solutions in a fast-paced environment
Current First Aid certification is desirable
Qualifications in healthcare management, business administration or related field are advantageous
