Job Description
Atlas Partners has been exclusively engaged to find an Assistant Accountant for a well-established, professional services organisation forming part of a larger, internationally backed group. This role has come about following an internal promotion within the finance team, creating a genuine opportunity to join a stable, well-supported function at a positive time of change.
n
The Role
n
Reporting into a recently promoted Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the recurring monthly finance cycle, including:
n
n
Journal entries and reconciliations
n
Month-end reporting support
n
Responding to day-to-day finance queries from across the business
n
Supporting broader analysis activities, with access to Power BI and emerging AI-driven finance platforms
n
General ledger support and ad hoc reporting as required
n
n
Assistant Accountant
n
$75,000 – $85,000 + Super | Melbourne CBD | 3 Days Office / 2 Days WFH
n
This is a mid-weighted, structured role — accounts payable and receivable are managed separately,
so the focus here is on accuracy and consistency across the monthly cycle rather than high-volume processing.
n
About You
n
Our ideal candidate is a degree-qualified accountant with 2–3 years' experience, ideally looking towards commencing or having started CA/CPA study, with genuine scope to grow into more senior finance roles over time.
n
Experienced, steady bookkeepers, reliable and comfortable remaining within a support-focussed role are encouraged to apply too.
n
In both cases, you'll bring a proactive, self-starter mindset, strong attention to detail, and comfort working with modern finance systems (including exposure to emerging AI-enabled tools).
n
What's on Offer
n
n
$75,000 – $85,000 base + superannuation
n
3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
n
Genuinely flexible working arrangements
n
A supportive, reliable finance team with a clear path for growth
