Job Description
Compliance, Quality & Safety Administrator — Entry Level
n
Compliance, Quality & Safety Administrator — Entry Level
n
Dunsteel Engineering | Moss Vale, NSW
n
We're a structural steel fabrication and installation business based in Moss Vale, working on commercial projects across Sydney. Our steel goes into buildings you'd recognize — data centres, warehouses, commercial towers.
n
We're certified to:
n
n
ISO **** — Quality Management
n
ISO ***** — Environmental Management
n
ISO ***** — Occupational Health & Safety
n
AS/NZS **** CC3 — the highest construction category in the Australian standard for steel structures
n
n
Getting there was the hard part. Keeping it is the job. Certification isn't a certificate on a wall — it's audited, and everything behind it has to be current, complete and evidenced. That's what this role is for.
n
The role
n
You'll work under the direction of our Compliance Coordinator, maintaining systems that are already built and documented. You won't be asked to design procedures or work out what a standard requires — you'll be shown what valuable looks like, and then you keep it that way.
n
Day to day:
n
n
Maintaining registers — welder qualifications, plant and equipment, calibration records, consumable certificates
n
Filing and tracking material test certificates and traceability records
n
Compiling inspection and test plans, weld records and manufacturer's data reports into project handover packs
n
Keeping safety documentation current — SWMS, site inductions, toolbox talk records, incident and hazard reports
n
Legwork on the safety side: chasing outstanding inductions and licences, following up actions after incidents and inspections,
helping prepare for site and workshop safety walks
n
Environmental records — waste, spill and consumption tracking against our ISO ***** obligations
n
Chasing missing paperwork from project managers, suppliers and subcontractors, and following it through until it's closed out
n
Preparing files and evidence ahead of surveillance audits
n
General administrative support across the compliance, quality and safety function
n
n
What we're actually looking for
n
Not experience. Attitude and attention to detail.
n
The right person is organised, notices when something doesn't add up, and is comfortable picking up the phone to chase a certificate that hasn't turned up — and then chasing it again a week later. A lot of this job is politely refusing to let things slide.
n
You'll need:
n
n
Solid written and verbal communication
n
Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook (we'll teach you the rest)
n
The ability to manage your own workload and keep track of a lot of moving parts
n
A driver's licence and your own transport
n
Australian working rights
n
n
Nice to have, but not required:
n
n
Some exposure to construction, manufacturing or engineering
n
Certificate in business administration, WHS or quality
n
Document control or records management experience
n
n
If you've just finished school or a certificate and you're after a first proper role, we want to hear from you.
If you've been doing admin elsewhere and want to move into quality, compliance or safety, that works too.
n
Where this can lead — if you want it
n
We're being upfront: this role starts as administration. But the person doing it sits inside four certified management systems every single day, and that's a rare place to learn from.
n
If you want to build on it, we'll back you:
n
n
Training paid for — internal auditor courses, Cert IV in WHS or Quality Auditing, whatever fits the direction you take
n
Exposure to real audits — you'll be in the room for surveillance audits, not just preparing for them
n
A defined step up — this role can grow into Quality Coordinator, Compliance Coordinator or WHS Advisor as your knowledge builds
n
A business that's growing — more projects, more systems, more scope. There's room to grow into rather than a queue to wait in
n
n
And if you'd rather stay in a well-run administration role and do it properly, that's genuinely fine too. We'd rather you tell us what you want than guess.
n
What else you'll get
n
n
Permanent full-time position based at our Moss Vale facility
n
An easy commute from Bowral, Mittagong, Bundanoon, Goulburn or the Illawarra
n
Direct training from people who know the standards inside out
n
Real exposure to how a fabrication business runs — engineering, workshop, site and project management
n
A team that will back you in and answer your questions
n
n
