About The Role
n
Our client is currently seeking a Database Administrator to join our team. The primary role of the Database Administrator is managing Database management of the Clearing applications utilising Postgres and/or MS-SQL DB technologies including performing administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, tuning, and support of the database environments. This position will be within a team of existing DBAs that cover Postgres and SQLServer.

Responsibilities
n
n
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the Clearing database environment.
n
Manage non-production, production and disaster recovery database environments.
n
Works closely with support team colleagues to ensure that the associated hardware resources for the database environment are configured for optimum performance and availability.
n
Proactively monitors database environment to ensure minimum downtime.
n
Provides regular trend analysis to track database performance and throughput, for capacity planning purposes.
n
Responsible for enhancements, maintenance and upgrades to the database environment.
n
Works with business, architecture, development and technical colleagues to manage and implement changes.
n




Carries out analysis of potential hardware problems prior to contacting third-party support.
n
Ensures all system and application changes are approved via the appropriate Change Control methods.
n
Develop and maintain runbooks for High Availability and Disaster Recovery tests and is responsible for planning and running these tests.
n
Handle the implementation of the bank clearing's business applications running in development, test and production environments. This will include installation of applications, releases and patch management as well as upgrades.
n
Work with the architecture team to provide technical expertise to define and implement a global infrastructure to support existing and future projects.
n
Provide database expertise to the development team (internal and external) regarding development around database technology, covering deployment best practice and configuration for AAC Clearing applications.

Skills & Experience
n
n
Expert Postgres Enterprise and/or Community knowledge.
n
Red Hat Cluster experience, preferred in use of Postgres Databases.
n
Extensive experience implementing and supporting streaming replication between different sites
n
Strong implementation and support experience of SQL and Postgres (e.g .PGPool, PGBouncer, PEM, DRITA, Failover Manager, Data Adapters, Replication Server, Migration Toolkit).
n
Must have a strong understanding of the architectural and operational complexities of solutions deployed within a Postgres and MS-SQL environments
n
RAC,rman,ASM,DG broker,Performance analysis
n
High level Linux administration skills
n
Experience with OEM
n
Engineered systems experience (Exadata and ODA)
n
PostgresSQL (locted on RHEL)Strong SQL PL/SQL skills
n
Migration from non-cdb to cdb
n
Configuration and support of TDE
n
Bash / Python scripting
n
Capacity management

Automation Experience

Essential Requirements
n
Expert SQL/Postgres DBA (minimum 8 year's experience)
