I'm currently seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join the Heathcote Road Upgrade, a busy civil construction project in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil construction professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Leading Hand, ideally across roads and civil projects.

The Role
n
n
Heathcote Road Upgrade project in Sydney
n
Monday to Friday initially
n
Saturday work as project progresses
n
Immediate start
n
$***** per hour + penalties
n
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Oversee and coordinate small teams of labourers and machinery operators
n
Allocate daily tasks and manage work priorities
n
Work closely with Supervisors and Project Managers
n
Read and interpret daily work plans
n
Complete and submit daily timesheets and work sheets
n
Liaise with clients and site personnel
n
Maintain robust HSE standards across the site
n
Coordinate labour and machinery to ensure daily targets are achieved
n
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to project requirements
n
n
About You
n
The successful candidate will have:
n
n
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Leading Hand
n
Strong background in civil construction
n
Ideally, previous experience working on roads projects
n
Sound understanding of HSE and site safety requirements
n
Knowledge of traffic management
n
Ability to read and interpret day plans and work schedules
n
Proven experience allocating work and managing small teams
n
Strong communication and leadership skills
n
Ability to work effectively with Supervisors, Project Managers and clients
n
A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently
n
