Job Description
Facility Manager – Residential Aged Care
n
Lead a residential aged care facility with full accountability for quality, people, compliance and operational performance.
n
We are seeking an experienced Facility Manager to provide strong leadership and overall management of a residential aged care facility.
n
This is a key leadership position with responsibility for ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care while maintaining strong clinical, operational, workforce and financial performance.
n
The Opportunity
n
As Facility Manager, you will take ownership of the overall performance of the facility and lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver positive outcomes for residents and their families.
n
You will oversee day-to-day operations while maintaining a solid focus on clinical governance, regulatory compliance, workforce capability, financial sustainability, risk management and continuous improvement.
n
A key part of the role will be creating an engaged and accountable team culture, supporting leaders and employees to deliver consistently high standards of care.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide overall leadership and direction for the residential aged care facility
n
Ensure safe, high-quality and person-centred care is consistently delivered
n
Maintain compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant regulatory requirements
n
Provide oversight of clinical governance, quality indicators, incidents and clinical risk
n
Lead, coach and develop an engaged, capable and high-performing workforce
n
Manage workforce planning, staffing levels, rostering and care-minute requirements
n
Oversee facility budgets,
expenditure and financial performance
n
Maintain effective AN-ACC processes and support appropriate funding outcomes
n
Drive continuous improvement and maintain readiness for internal and external audits
n
Manage WHS, infection prevention and control, SIRS and broader facility risks
n
Build trusted relationships with residents, families, employees, health professionals and other key stakeholders
n
Support occupancy and maintain strong relationships within the local community
n
Oversee the effective management of facility assets, maintenance and administrative requirements
n
n
About You
n
You will be an experienced aged care leader who understands that successful facility management requires a balance of quality care, strong leadership, regulatory compliance and sound commercial management.
n
You will bring:
n
n
Demonstrated leadership experience within residential aged care
n
Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards, accreditation and regulatory requirements
n
Experience with AN-ACC, aged care funding and associated documentation
n
Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality and risk management
n
Demonstrated experience managing budgets and controlling operational costs
n
Experience leading workforce planning,
employee performance and team development
n
Robust knowledge of WHS, infection control and continuous improvement practices
n
Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills
n
Strong decision-making, problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities
n
The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
n
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Management, Nursing or a related discipline will be highly regarded
n
Current AHPRA registration is preferred
n
