A growing Australian renewable energy infrastructure business is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join its People & Culture team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
Operating across large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects, this is a fast-moving, project-based environment where priorities can shift quickly and HR plays an important role in keeping the business one step ahead.
You'll partner closely with leaders across construction, engineering, projects and corporate functions, balancing strategic thinking with plenty of hands-on HR.
If you like your HR commercial, practical and close to the action, this one's for you.
Who are you?
You're a confident HR Business Partner who knows how to build credibility with everyone from senior leaders and engineers through to construction managers and site-based teams.
You're pragmatic, commercially minded and comfortable working in an environment where not everything comes neatly packaged with a process and a bow.
You can coach and challenge leaders, hold your ground when needed, and still maintain solid relationships.
Most importantly, you're happy switching between strategic workforce conversations and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
Day to day
Partner with project, construction and corporate leaders on day-to-day people matters
Coach managers across performance, leadership and employee relations
Support workforce planning and anticipate future project resourcing requirements
Manage ER matters, investigations and performance issues

Support organisational change and evolving workforce requirements
Partner on recruitment and mobilisation for project and site-based roles
Support employees across the full employee lifecycle
Contribute to engagement, performance and broader P&C; initiatives
Help embed and improve People & Culture processes and ways of working

What's in your toolkit?
Must-haves:
Construction, engineering, infrastructure, EPC or renewable energy experience
Confidence partnering with and coaching leaders
Hands-on employee relations and performance management experience
Ability to work autonomously and use sound judgement
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Commercial, practical and solutions-focused approach
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
Confidence working across both operational and corporate stakeholder groups
Nice-to-haves:
Experience supporting project or site-based workforces
Exposure to the Electrical and/or Construction Awards
Experience supporting both blue- and white-collar workforces
Why This Role?
12-month maternity leave contract
Hybrid working arrangement
Join a growing business within the renewable energy sector
Genuine business partnering with exposure to major infrastructure projects
Work across both strategic and hands-on HR
Autonomy to own your portfolio and make decisions
Opportunity to influence an evolving People & Culture function
Exposure to workforce planning, project mobilisation and broader P&C; initiatives
This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded HRBP who enjoys being close to the business, thrives on variety and wants to make an impact within a growing renewable energy organisation.
