Our client is a rapidly growing global organisation establishing a major new automated facility in Western Sydney. As the operation continues to scale, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Accountant to play a key role in supporting financial performance, commercial decision making and operational growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys working closely with operations and senior stakeholders and wants to be part of building the financial framework of a new and highly automated site.

About the role
n
Reporting into the finance function, you will work closely with Finance, Commercial and Operations teams to provide accurate financial reporting, meaningful analysis and commercial insight.
n
You will be responsible for supporting the site's financial performance while helping identify opportunities to improve costs, profitability and operational efficiency.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
Prepare monthly management reporting, financial analysis and commentary
n
Support budgeting, forecasting and long range financial planning
n
Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and financial projections
n
Monitor site financial performance and investigate variances
n
Partner with operational leaders to identify cost saving and efficiency opportunities
n
Provide commercial analysis and financial insights to support business decisions
n
Support month end close and financial accounting activities
n
Assist with project accounting, capital expenditure and financial controls
n
Prepare financial reports for senior management and Group Finance
n
Support audit, taxation, banking and other external stakeholder requirements
n




Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements
n
Develop strong relationships across Finance, Commercial and Operations
n
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, processes and financial controls
n

About you
n
You will be an experienced commercial finance professional with a solid understanding of both financial and management accounting.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
Experience across accounting and finance
n
Previous experience in a Senior Commercial Accountant, Management Accountant, Finance Manager or similar position
n
CA or CPA qualification
n
Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience
n
Commercial and operational business partnering experience
n
Experience with project accounting and financial analysis
n
Strong understanding of cost control and financial performance
n
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
n
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
n
Experience within Big 4, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, manufacturing, FMCG or another operational environment would be highly regarded
n
