About Us
Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in **** by the Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, who's work championed social justice, mental health support, and innovative youth services.
Today, the Foundation continues his legacy, delivering frontline services and community support across NSW, ACT & QLD.
With over 200 staff and 350 volunteers, we remain deeply committed to helping young people affected by issues related to drugs, crime, and mental health.
The Role
TheCase Manager & Programs Facilitator (Identified Role)combines responsibilities across two programs, working with young people in both case management and youth work.
The role leads the Aboriginal Case Management program, delivering support and engagement within schools, the community, and at the Street University in Katoomba, where one weekly shift is required.
While the role is based at the Street University in Katoomba it also includes outreach across the Lithgow and Blue Mountains regions.
The Street Universities are non-residential treatment centres that help those aged ***** with drug, crime and mental health issues.
Each centre is unique and is a safe environment where young people can engage in workshops ranging from music and dance to computer coding.
Evidence-based counselling is available to help our youth reduce their drug use and involvement in crime and to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
This role also runs our Deadly Dreaming program, facilitating arts and cultural workshops at schools in these regions.
Workshops are designed to:
Engage with students and connect them with Aboriginal Culture, Country and Community;
Increase school retention,



attendance and improve peer relationships;
Provide brief assessment of students' mental health and other needs, and refer to relevant services.
Responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to:
Case Management:
Conduct thorough assessments, formulating clinical & case work treatment plans.
Develop comprehensive case management plans in collaboration with clients.
Provide regular individual case support and interventions.
Manage brokerage funding and support for young people with support of Manager.
Provide family support where needed.
Youth Work:
Demonstrate initiative, creativity and practical life skills to organise positive group programs for young people.
Develop program outlines of music, dance, creative arts, cultural and recreational activity for young people.
Involve young people in NAIDOC Week celebrations.
Ensure that the program is delivered to the highest standards in accordance with agreed program plans in compliance with the requirements of the funding agreements.
Provide brief assessment of students' mental health and other needs.
Acquire local knowledge and develop meaningful dialogue with young people.
Look for opportunities to form further community partnerships and programs.
Maintain records on service delivery.
Assist with overall programs and operational functions of the Street University.
Essential Selection Criteria

With reference to the requirements of the role, robust connections with local First Nations communities and demonstrated cultural knowledge are key requirements for this role.
Tertiary or relevant qualifications or relevant workplace experience.
Experience in developing and delivering workshops using cultural and artistic expression.
Ability to connect and engage with young people.
Initiative, creativity and practical life skills to organise positive group programs and other activities for young people.
Experience conducting assessment, developing case plans, providing advocacy and referral, and liaising closely with other professionals.
Excellent self-management and organisational skills to work as part of a team and as an individual with minimal supervision.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to develop, maintain and build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
Commitment to the principles of harm minimisation and to the aims of the Ted Noffs Foundation.
Must haveNSW Working With Children CheckandDriver Licence(Provisional Licence minimum) with a good driving record.
