Job Description
Queensland Bridge & Civil is a Brisbane-based civil contracting company with over 25 years of experience successfully delivering projects for the Department of Transport and Main Roads, Local Government and private enterprise across South-East Queensland.
n
As we enter our next phase of growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Site Supervisor / Foreman to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of civil construction projects from commencement through to completion.
n
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience across both road and bridge construction, with an understanding of the different challenges and requirements associated with delivering these types of projects.
n
Reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Planning, programming and coordinating day-to-day site operations to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with program requirements;
n
Supervising and coordinating Leading Hands, skilled construction personnel, subcontractors and plant;
n
Working closely with Site and Project Engineers and the wider project team throughout the construction and completion phases;
n
Interpreting construction drawings, specifications and project documentation and ensuring works are constructed in accordance with approved requirements;
n
Managing construction activities associated with roadworks, drainage, earthworks, pavements, structures and bridge construction;
n
Monitoring productivity, resources, plant utilisation and construction progress;
n
Ensuring safety, environmental and quality outcomes are maintained in accordance with Company objectives, project requirements and industry best practice;
n
Maintaining accurate site records, construction documentation and other required project administration;
n
Identifying and addressing construction issues as they arise and working collaboratively with the Project Manager and project team to achieve practical solutions;
n
Providing leadership, direction, training and development to the site workforce;
n
Working collaboratively with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders; and
n
Taking ownership of the successful delivery of your site, from mobilisation through to practical completion and handover.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Minimum 4 years' experience in a Site Supervisor / Foreman role;
n
Demonstrated experience delivering road and/or bridge construction projects, preferably with exposure to both;
n
A strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and the practical requirements of delivering works in a live construction environment;
n
Good commercial and contractual awareness;
n
The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation;
n
Experience with planning, programming, resource coordination and monitoring construction progress;
n
A solid understanding of site safety, environmental and quality requirements;
n
An ability to lead, motivate and manage a construction workforce;
n
Strong communication and organisational skills;
n
A practical, solutions-focused approach to construction; and
n
The ability to work effectively as part of a project team while taking ownership of your area of responsibility.

Most importantly, you will be a hands-on leader who understands how to get projects completed. You will be comfortable working alongside your crew, coordinating subcontractors and plant, solving problems on site and maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, productivity and program.
