Associate Director (Corporate Banking) | Bank of China Sydney

Bank of China is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Associate Director to join our Corporate Banking team in Sydney. This client-facing role within a high-performing team focuses on delivering tailored banking solutions to Large Corporate & Institutional customers, with an emphasis on client coverage, credit analysis, transaction structuring, and execution.

This is a Two Year Term Contract, with strong potential to convert to an ongoing role upon successful completion.

Responsibilities
n
n
Develop and strengthen client relationships through effective marketing initiatives, delivering innovative solutions to maximize customer satisfaction
n
Identify and pursue recent-to-bank business opportunities through proactive client targeting and business development
n
Manage and grow the existing customer portfolio, ensuring comprehensive and quality banking services are provided
n
Assess customers' credit profiles and prepare high-quality credit submissions, including new proposals, variation requests, and annual reviews
n
Interpret and perform financial modelling, including sensitivity analysis, to support credit decision-making
n
Structure, execute, and close credit or advisory transactions with minimal supervision from senior leaders
n
Implement post-lending management, including timely reporting on customers' credit profile changes and adjusting lending strategies accordingly
n
Conduct industry research and market analysis to maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, risks, and opportunities
n
Collaborate with product experts across Debt Capital Markets, Trade Finance, Treasury, and Retail Banking to enhance returns through cross-selling initiatives
n
Liaise with internal departments and Head Office to ensure seamless service delivery and policy implementation
n
Provide strategic advice and recommendations to improve business performance
n

To succeed in this role, you will bring
n
n
A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the banking industry, with a strong preference for corporate or institutional banking backgrounds
n
A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
n
Strong knowledge of corporate lending and related products and services
n
Advanced skills in credit analysis, financial modelling, and financial analysis
n
Solid understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and relevant regulatory requirements
n
Proven ability to build relationships at all levels of a customer's organization
n
Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and negotiation skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
n
Strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to comply with bank policies and procedures
n
Fluency in both English and Mandarin (verbal and written) is highly regarded
n
n
