Laneway Talent is currently recruiting for a Junior Network Engineer to join a major network infrastructure refresh program on a fixed-term basis through to the end of ****.

This opportunity would suit someone with around 2–3 years' experience in networking, network operations or infrastructure support who is looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll gain exposure to enterprise networking, Cisco technologies, infrastructure projects and IT change management, while working alongside experienced network and infrastructure professionals.

The role combines hands-on network support with structured change coordination, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of networking and wants to develop their project, documentation and stakeholder management skills.

About the role
n
You'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of network infrastructure changes and ensuring those changes are properly planned, documented, tested and implemented.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Supporting network incidents, troubleshooting and problem management.
n
Participating in planned network maintenance and refresh activities.
n
Supporting network hardware installation, replacement and commissioning.
n
Assisting with network asset management and lifecycle planning.
n
Supporting network change requests from planning through to implementation and review.
n
Reviewing changes for technical accuracy, risk, business impact, rollback plans and implementation schedules.
n
Maintaining accurate change records,



implementation schedules and technical documentation.
n
Supporting stakeholder communications and change approvals.
n
Monitoring the successful completion of approved changes.
n
Escalating complex technical issues to senior network engineers.
n
Working closely with network administrators, project teams, vendors and other technical stakeholders.
n

Technical Environment
n
You'll be working across an enterprise networking environment with exposure to technologies and concepts including:
n

Cisco networking technologies
n
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
n
Software Defined Access (SDA)
n
TCP/IP
n
VLANs
n
Wireless networking
n
Layer 2 & Layer 3 networking
n
High availability and network redundancy
n
IP addressing and subnetting
n
Routing protocols
n
Network documentation and infrastructure standards
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
Around 2–3 years' experience in Network Engineering, Network Operations or Infrastructure Support.
n
Hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments.
n
Experience with Cisco networking technologies.
n
Exposure to IT Change Management processes.
n




An understanding of ITIL Change Management principles.
n
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
n
A good understanding of network infrastructure and connectivity.
n
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
n
A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop.
n
The confidence to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
n
A Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline is desirable.
n
Certifications such as CCNA or ITIL 4 Foundation are advantageous, although equivalent industry experience will be considered.
n
