We are seeking an experienced
Business Development Manager
in Victoria to translate complex plant challenges into practical, commercially compelling software solutions across Australia.
What You Will Do
Drive National Growth Strategy: Build and execute a national strategy to grow iOpen's industrial software business across key strategic accounts.
High-Level Discovery: Uncover operational pain points through structured discovery with engineering, operations, maintenance, IT, and executive stakeholders.
Architect Multi-Product Solutions: Combine relevant software platforms and applications rather than relying on single-product sales.
End-to-End Sales Ownership: Lead prospecting, opportunity qualification, solution demonstrations, proposals, value negotiations, and closing.
Build Commercial ROI Narratives: Connect technical features to business outcomes, generating explicit business cases and ROI narratives for plant visibility, reliability, compliance, cybersecurity, and productivity.
Account Expansion: Develop long-term customer partnerships, driving account growth through cross‐selling and continuous expansion opportunities.
Collaboration & Discipline: Work closely with iOpen's technical team, vendors,



and partners; maintain disciplined pipeline management and forecasting in CRM; and represent iOpen on site and at industry events.
Industries You Will Target
Water and wastewater, food and beverage, mining, metals and minerals, utilities, and renewable energy across end users, system integrators, OEMs, and technology partners.
The Expertise We Are Looking For
Demonstrated success in B2B business development or solution sales within industrial software, automation, process control, IIoT, or related OT markets.
Deep understanding of OT environments and the operational realities of critical infrastructure.
Technical knowledge across several core software domains:
SCADA and HMI Platforms
Historians and Industrial Data Platforms
Reporting and Analytics
MES / Production Management
IIoT and Edge Connectivity
Asset Performance Optimisation
Change Management, Mobility, and OT Cybersecurity
Commercial confidence engaging senior decision‐makers combined with hands‐on credibility with engineering/operations teams.
Proven capability in designing demonstrations, technical proposals, and value‐based commercial offers.
Relevant technical qualification or equivalent industry experience (end‐user, vendor, OEM, or system integrator background highly regarded).
Location & Working Style
Based in Victoria, preferably Melbourne for collaboration with our local office.
Working from home is supported, combined with regular customer site visits, partner meetings, and national travel.
