Senior Associate - Employment, Workplace Relations and Safety

The Opportunity
n
Our employment team is looking for an experienced employment lawyer to join the team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will have the prospect to work across a diverse range of workplace matters including:
n
n
Providing day to day employment law guidance to HR and in-house legal clients
n
Advising on and representing clients in a variety of employment related claims, including claims for unfair dismissal, adverse action, bullying, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and underpayment of wages
n
Dealing with industrial relations issues, including awards and enterprise bargaining
n
Advising on WHS and managing with incidents
n
Reviewing and drafting of contracts, policies, and settlement deeds
n
Supporting our corporate team on all people aspects of mergers and acquisitions
n
Undertaking workplace investigations; and
n
Delivering training to clients on HR related topics.

Skills and Experience
n
To be successful in this role you will have:
n
n
A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and a current New South Wales practising certificate
n
Demonstrated experience across a range of general employment and IR matters
n
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling a practical and commercial approach to be taken
n
Confidence to deal with clients and work collaboratively with other practice groups
n
High degree of initiative, dedication and organisational ability with a strong client and commercial focus
n
Ability to manage a busy workload and work to tight deadlines
n
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
n
