St Albert's College was founded in **** and is a work of the Catholic Diocese of Armidale, operating within the University of New England. Position Profile and Accountability
n
The Night Porter embodies the College's values after-hours and is foremost an enabler of the St Albert's student experience, that experience premised upon trust, respect and valuing the story of each of our residents. Reporting to the Executive Dean, they will work closely with the College Executive and Management teams in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all college residents after hours.

During UNE's Trimesters 1 and 2 (23 Feb to 27 Sep in ****), the Night Porter will be available to work 35 hours per week as follows;
n
7pm to 4am shifts from Thursday evenings to Sunday mornings
n
3pm to 11pm shifts on Sundays
n
During UNE's Trimester 3 and summer holidays (28 Sep **** to Mid Feb ****), the Night Porter will be available to work 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday during business hours.

Key Responsibilities:
n
Pastoral support including
n
General and mental health first aid
n
Behavioural profiling
n
Security support including
n
Enforcement of college rules and policies
n




Key point of escalation for any concerns raised by student residents
n
Site security and access control
n
After hours event support
n
Organisation/active
participation in Friday night community building activities
n
Liaising with key stakeholders, including any 3rd party contractors and UNE Safety & Security
n
Maintenance tasks as necessary
n
Other administrative tasks as directed.
n
Successful Candidate will have:
n
Experience working with young adults, ******* years of age,
n
Ability to manage and interact constructively with young people with complex needs
n
Experience in working through the medium of robust respect-based relationships to achieve positive outcomes
n
Impressive interpersonal skills and a proactive work ethic
n
Proven ability to de-escalate and effectively manage conflict
n
Experience working with a variety of stakeholders with competing priorities
n
Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
n
A degree or qualification related to pastoral care highly regarded
n
Prior experience in a similar role highly regarded
n
