Job Description
About the opportunity
n
This is a senior, site-based leadership position responsible for managing the HR and Industrial Relations function across a large and complex construction workforce. You will lead an established HR/IR team while partnering closely with senior project leadership, unions, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
n
This is a FIFO position and will suit an experienced HR/IR qualified comfortable operating in a major project environment.
n
The Role Reporting to the senior People & Culture leadership team, you will take ownership of HR and IR delivery across site, including:
n
n
Lead and develop a team of HR/IR professionals, including Senior Advisors, Advisors and Officers.
n
Provide expert advice across industrial relations, employee relations and workplace legislation.
n
Interpret and apply Enterprise Agreements, Awards, employment contracts and relevant legislation.
n
Manage union relationships, right-of-entry matters, industrial disputes and complex negotiations.
n
Partner with site leadership on performance management, misconduct, disciplinary matters and workforce issues.
n
Oversee complex HR/IR case management and ensure matters are resolved practically and commercially.
n
Identify emerging workforce and industrial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
n
Build strong relationships across project leadership, subcontractors, unions and external stakeholders.
n
Support HR systems, payroll interpretation,
reporting and broader workforce initiatives.

About You
n
We are looking for a highly experienced HR/IR professional who has operated in complex, heavily unionised construction or major infrastructure environments.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
12+ years' HR and Industrial Relations experience.
n
Major construction, infrastructure, resources or similarly complex project experience.
n
Demonstrated experience leading HR/IR teams.
n
Strong exposure to multi-union environments.
n
Significant experience with Fair Work Commission matters, dispute resolution and complex negotiations.
n
Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements, Awards and workplace relations legislation.
n
Confidence dealing directly with senior leadership, unions and a diverse blue- and white-collar workforce.
n
Tertiary qualifications in HR, Employment Relations, Law, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
n
White Card and current driver's licence.
n
n
