Senior ServiceNow Developer (ITSM / ITOM / Integrations) – Contract (Federal Government)

A major System Integrator is seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to support a Federal Government client delivering and enhancing core ServiceNow capabilities across ITSM, ITOM and integrations. This is an immediate start contract role requiring active NV1 (or higher) security clearance.

Location: Sydney / Melbourne / Canberra / Adelaide(site arrangements to be confirmed)

Clearance: Mandatory – active NV1 or higher

Contract: Initial 6 months + possible extension

Role overview
n
You will design, build and support ServiceNow solutions across ITSM and ITOM, delivering high-quality technical outcomes in a secure government environment. Youll work closely with platform owners, architects, business stakeholders and delivery teams to implement scalable, supportable solutions and robust integrations.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Develop and configure ServiceNow solutions across ITSM modules (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB, Knowledge).
n
Deliver ITOM capabilities such as Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and operational dashboards/health views (as applicable).
n
Build and support integrations using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, scripted integrations, and event/message patterns.
n
Produce high-quality server-side and client-side scripting (JavaScript), including Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies/Actions, Client Scripts, Catalog
Items/Workflows/Flows.

Implement automation using Flow Designer and support legacy workflow where required.
n
Provide technical leadership on build standards, code quality, performance, and platform best practice.
n
Troubleshoot, tune and resolve defects, platform issues, integration failures and data quality problems.
n
Contribute to release planning, CI/CD where implemented, change management and production support.
n
Develop technical documentation, runbooks, configuration guides and knowledge articles.
n
Work within secure delivery practices and adhere to Federal Government policies, governance and audit requirements.

Skills and experience
n
Essential
n
n
Strong hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer in enterprise environments.
n
Demonstrated delivery across ITSM and ITOM (including at least one of Discovery / Service Mapping / Event Management).
n
Solid experience delivering integrations (IntegrationHub, APIs, MID Server, data
transformation/mapping).
n
Strong scripting skills and ability to work with complex customisation while keeping solutions supportable.
n
Experience with CMDB and service modelling concepts, CI relationships and data governance.
n
Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders in a structured delivery setting.
n
Active NV1 (or higher) security clearance – mandatory.
