We are partnering with an established Brisbane precision engineering business, celebrating 40 years in operation, to appoint a Business Development Manager who can help drive its next phase of growth.
n
For this appointment, technical understanding is more important than traditional sales experience.
n
The Opportunity
n
Operating from Brisbane's western suburbs, the business provides precision and general engineering solutions across mining, materials handling, agriculture and infrastructure.
n
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll work with existing and prospective customers to understand their technical requirements, identify opportunities and develop solutions alongside the internal engineering and workshop teams.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
Developing relationships with new and existing customers
n
Identifying new opportunities across key industry sectors
n
Understanding customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements
n
Working internally to develop engineering solutions, quotations and proposals
n
Managing opportunities from initial enquiry through commercial
discussionsBuilding
a strong pipeline of new work and long-term customer relationships
n

Who We're Looking For
n
There are a few backgrounds that could work well.
n
You may already be working in technical sales, business development or account management within engineering, manufacturing or heavy industry.
n
Alternatively, you could be a trade-qualified professional, estimator, engineer, project professional or technical specialist ready to move into a more commercial and client-facing role.
n
Experience could come from:
n
n
Machining / fitting & turning
n
Fabrication
n
Mechanical engineering
n
Estimating
n
Project engineering
n
Manufacturing or workshop operations
n
Mining or heavy industrial services
n
n
Above all, you need to understand the technical conversation.
n If you can look at a customer's problem, drawing or requirement, understand what they are trying to achieve and confidently work with them to develop a solution, we want to hear from you.
