Job Description
We are seeking a Medical
Receptionist/Practice
Manager to join our team in Runcorn, QLD on a casual basis. This is a hybrid role that combines frontline patient engagement with administrative and operational management responsibilities. You will be the first point of contact for our patients whilst also ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our medical practice. This position is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of patient care and organisational efficiency that define our practice.

Key responsibilities
n
n
Greeting patients upon arrival and providing them with a warm, professional welcome
n
Managing patient check-in and check-out procedures, including collection of fees and processing of insurance documentation
n
Scheduling and confirming patient appointments whilst managing the practice calendar efficiently
n
Answering incoming calls and directing enquiries to the appropriate medical staff or departments
n
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
n
Processing medical correspondence, referrals and test results
n
Performing general administrative tasks including filing, data entry and report preparation
n
Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies and equipment
n
Supporting the coordination of staff schedules and covering for team members as requiredLiaising between patients, doctors and external healthcare providers
n
Contributing to the maintenance of a clean, welcoming and organised reception area and practice facilities
n

What we're looking for
n
BEST PRACTICE SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL! (please do not apply if you do not have knowledge or experience in Best Practice software)
n
n
Proven experience working as a medical receptionist, practice manager or in a similar healthcare administrative role
n
Robust organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced workplace
n
Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with patients, staff and external contacts
n
Proficiency in computer systems and medical practice management software
n
Accurate typing and data entry skills with meticulous attention to detail
n
Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare regulations and privacy legislationAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion
n
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
n
Flexibility and adaptability to work on a casual basis with varying hours as required
n
A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
n
Preferred: Experience with Australian healthcare systems, Medicare and private health insurance processes
n
