Job Description
Chief Operating Officer – National Healthcare Operations
n
Build the next generation of specialist healthcare in Australia.

TMJ Clinics Australia is Australia's largest dedicated TMJ healthcare network.
n
Founded in ****, we have grown into a national organisation with 11 clinics across Australia, supported by specialist clinicians, physiotherapists, an in-house digital laboratory and centralised patient services.
n
We are now expanding into sleep medicine and investing heavily in technology, AI-enabled workflows, digital manufacturing and national growth.
n
To help realise this vision, we are seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to build the operational platform that will power our next decade of growth.

The Opportunity
n
Working directly with the Founders you will lead national operations and help transform a successful business into a scalable healthcare organisation.
n
Success in this role means building the systems, leaders and culture required to operate 20, 30 or even 50 locations while maintaining an exceptional patient experience and workplace culture.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
National Operations
n
Lead operational performance across the clinic network
n
Improve utilisation, productivity and profitability
n
Standardise systems while supporting local flexibility
n
Drive operational consistency across all locations
n
Growth & Expansion
n
Lead new clinic rollout nationally
n
Develop scalable opening playbooks
n
Coordinate expansion, integration and operational readiness
n
Leadership
n
Recruit, coach and develop operational leaders
n
Mentor clinic managers into high-performing business leaders
n
Build succession planning and leadership capability
n
Operational Excellence
n
Develop scalable SOPs, KPIs and reporting
n
Improve workforce planning, efficiency and patient flow
n
Strengthen governance, quality and continuous improvement
n
Contribute to strategy and Board reporting
n
Partner with Finance, Marketing and Clinical Leadership
n
Lead major organisational projects and innovation initiatives
n
About You
n
You have successfully led and scaled a multi-site organisation.
n
Whether your background is healthcare or another premium service industry, you understand operational excellence, commercial performance and leadership at scale.
n
You enjoy creating order from complexity, developing leaders and building systems that people genuinely want to use.
n
Most importantly, you believe culture is a competitive advantage.

Executive operational leadership

Multi-site business management

Demonstrated experience scaling organisations
n
Strong commercial and financial capability
n
Strategic planning, change management and execution
n
KPI development and performance leadership
n
Highly Desirable
n
Experience in healthcare, dental, medical specialists, allied health or other regulated service industries.
n
Experience with new site rollout, digital transformation, AI implementation, Lean improvement or acquisition integration will be highly regarded.
