Talent International partnered with a leading Managed Service Provider in Australia to find a Systems Engineer. The role provides IT support to major Hotel Brands in Sydney and is based near Chandos Street in St Leonards, NSW.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Maintain & manage Windows Server ********* and Windows workstation environments across allocated hotel sites.
n
Review system logs, antivirus definitions, and security patch status; apply updates as required.
n
Administer data management, backup processes, and scheduled system restarts/reboots to ensure stability.
n
Configure & administer Windows Server and workstation OS in line with organisational standards.
n
Maintain complex on‐site physical IT infrastructure (servers, desktops, networking hardware, software).
n
Oversee server room environments, structured cabling, data, power, cooling systems, and third‐party technology integrations.
n
Audit existing infrastructure and plan/execute upgrades for switches, servers, workstations, and OS.
n
Monitor network traffic and capacity, identifying and recommending upgrade opportunities proactively.
n
Monitor network infrastructure and recommend, plan, configure network upgrades as required.
n
Execute ISP migrations, firewall flow configurations, and
installation/configuration
of new switches and uplinks.
n
Plan and configure virtual networks; lead or support network migration projects from inception to completion.
n
Create & maintain comprehensive network inventory list, documenting faults and resolutions.
n
Participate actively in change management processes and ITIL frameworks, applying IT standards across all activities.
n
Engage in technical discussions with broader IT teams on issues, bugs, installations, workarounds, and project delivery.
n
Support and contribute to IT governance and compliance activities as directed by the IT Manager.
n

Required Qualifications & Experience
n
n
Operating Systems: Windows Server *********; Windows XP, 7, 8, 10
n
Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, routing, firewall configuration, ISP migrations
n
Infrastructure: Servers, desktops, structured cabling, power, cooling, rack management
n
Virtualisation: Virtual network planning and configuration
n
Documentation Tools: Confluence (required), Dropbox
n
Monitoring & Management: Network traffic monitoring, capacity planning, log analysis
n
Frameworks: ITIL foundations or equivalent practical experience
n
Experience: 3+ years in a systems or infrastructure engineering role
n
n
Preferred Qualifications

Technical problem‐solving and root‐cause analysis
n
Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non‐technical stakeholders
n
Attention to detail in documentation and configuration management
n
Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously
n
Proactive approach to monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement
