We are seeking a commercially minded and analytical Merchandise Allocator to join our Merchandise team at Best & Less.
In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the right products are in the right stores at the right time.
Working closely with Planners, Buyers, Stores, and our Distribution Centre, you'll use sales and stock data to drive allocation decisions, maximise sales opportunities, and support an exceptional customer experience.
This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who loves working with data, enjoys problem-solving, and has a genuine passion for retail, fashion, and product.
You'll gain exposure to the end-to-end merchandise lifecycle while working alongside experienced Merchandise Planning and Buying professionals in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Your Day Will Consist Of:
Managing stock replenishment and allocations across our store network
Allocating current product launches, promotional ranges, and seasonal stock to maximise sales opportunities




Monitoring sales and stock performance and making allocation recommendations based on trading results
Analysing sales, stock, and inventory data to identify opportunities and potential risks
Supporting Planners with reporting, forecasting, trade reviews, and seasonal planning activities
Assisting with advertising orders and key promotional events
Supporting stock allocations for new store openings and store refurbishments
Managing stock flow to optimise inventory productivity across stores and distribution centres
Partnering with Stores, Buyers, Planners, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product availability
Providing recommendations to improve allocation strategies and stock performance
Assisting with weekly and monthly reporting on sales, stock, and inventory performance
Maintaining accurate product and inventory information within merchandise systems
You Hill Have:
Experience
Previous experience in Allocation, Merchandise Planning, Retail, Inventory Management, or a related field
Experience working with sales and stock reporting
Exposure to replenishment, inventory management, or allocation processes is highly regarded
Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment
Technical & Professional Skills
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Strong analytical and numerical capability
Ability to interpret data and make commercially sound decisions
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines




Strong written and verbal communication skills
Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across teams
A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
A genuine passion for retail, fashion, and customer experience
Strong commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding customer buying behaviour
Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Business, Commerce, Retail, Merchandising, or a related discipline (desirable)
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Retail Support Office or store-based retail experience
Experience using merchandise planning, allocation, or inventory management systems
Understanding of retail trading cycles and promotional events
A desire to build a long-term career within Merchandise Planning and Retail Analytics
