The Role
n
We are looking for someone to oversee the general maintenance and upkeep of our guesthouse, ensuring everything is well maintained, presented and working as it should for our guests.
n
The role is approximately 4 days per week, 10am–1pm, with some flexibility around days and hours where required.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
General property maintenance and repairs
n
Regular checks of guest rooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas and common spaces
n
Identifying and addressing maintenance issues before they become problems
n
Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general handyman tasks
n
Pool and outdoor area maintenance
n
Caring for and maintaining indoor and outdoor plants, including watering, pruning and general plant care
n
Garden and property upkeep as required
n




Looking after bikes and guesthouse equipment
n
Liaising with tradespeople when specialist work is required
n
Managing maintenance supplies and keeping the maintenance area organised
n
Responding to any urgent maintenance issues that arise
n
Helping maintain the high standard of presentation that 28 Degrees is known for
n

About You
n
We are looking for someone who is:
n
n
Experienced in property maintenance, handyman work or a similar role
n
Practical, capable and confident working independently
n
Reliable, punctual and well organised
n
A great problem solver who doesn't need to be told what needs doing
n
Detail-oriented and takes genuine pride in their work
n
Confident and knowledgeable when it comes to plant and garden care
n
Comfortable working around guests in a boutique hospitality environment
n
Friendly, approachable and professional
n
Ideally experienced with pools, gardens and general property upkeep
n
n
A trade qualification or relevant experience would be highly regarded, but we are equally interested in someone with excellent practical skills and a strong work ethic.
