About the Role
n
We are looking for a proactive, mid-level DevOps & Deployment Engineer to deploy and support our software across customer environments.
n
This role combines hands-on customer deployments with the ongoing improvement and automation of our onboarding and server stand-up processes.
n
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
Stand up and configure Facere services on customer-provided servers.
n
Debug and troubleshoot issues arising during server stand-up and deployment.
n
Ensure customer environments are deployed, validated and ready within agreed timelines.
n
Automate and refine deployment processes to improve reliability, consistency and efficiency.
n
Coordinate with customers and their IT providers to resolve access, networking and infrastructure blockers.
n
Maintain transparent and accurate deployment and troubleshooting documentation.
n

Required Skills
n
n
Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
n




Experience deploying applications and services into virtual machines.
n
A solid understanding of virtual machines and how they differ from physical servers and containers.
n
Strong working knowledge of SSH and Ansible.
n
Experience scripting in Bash and/or Python.
n
Good understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, subnets, ports, firewalls and VPNs.
n
Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills.
n
Ability to manage multiple deployments, prioritise effectively and work independently.
n

Desirable Skills
n
n
Experience with Kubernetes or K3s.
n
Experience with Docker or other container technologies.
n
Familiarity with virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V or Proxmox.
n
Experience with PostgreSQL.
n
Experience working with on-premises or security-conscious customer environments.
n
n

Customer deployments are completed accurately and on time.
n
Technical and deployment issues are resolved efficiently.
n
The onboarding and deployment process becomes increasingly automated and reliable.
n
Manual deployment steps, inconsistencies and errors are reduced over time.
