As Director of Studies,you'lllead academic quality and innovation across our programs: teaching standards, curriculum governance, faculty development, and student success, all within Australia's TEQSA and HESF framework.

OVERVIEW
n
Report to Executive Director, APAC, this Director of Studies provides academic leadership at LCI Melbourne, ensuring the delivery of high-quality learning experiences, compliance with TEQSA and HESF standards, and student success.
n
This role oversees teaching quality, faculty coordination, curriculum development, and assessment integrity, ensuring LCI Melbourne's
programsremaininnovative,
industry-aligned, and compliant with higher education regulations. The role also champions faculty professional development and operational efficiency to enhance the student experience.
n
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
n
1. Teaching Quality & Compliance
n
Ensure that teaching and assessment meet TEQSA, CRICOS, and HESF **** requirements, supporting academic staff in scholarship-informed teaching, moderation, and course delivery.
n
2. Academic Governance & Oversight
n
Lead academic compliance initiatives, ensuring curriculum alignment, course reviews, and continuous improvement. Provide reports on teaching outcomes, student success, and academic integrity.
n
3. Faculty Leadership & Development
n
Mentor academic staff, conduct teaching observations and feedback, and implement professional development initiatives to foster excellence in learning and teaching.
n
4.
Student Progression & Retention
n
Monitor student progression, at-risk students, and retention rates, working with Student Services to implement support strategies.
n
5. Operational & Resource Management
n
Oversee academic scheduling, faculty workload coordination, and assessment moderation while ensuring library and learning technologies support high-quality education.
n
6. Strategic Leadership & Program Innovation
n
Drive new course development, micro-credentials, articulation pathways, and industry-aligned initiativesand key events, benchmarking LCI Melbourne's academic offerings to remain competitive.
n

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
n
n
A postgraduate qualification (Master'sor PhD) in design, fashion, or a related
field,ordemonstrate
equivalent professional experience (as required by TEQSA).
n
Experience in teaching, curriculum design, or academic coordination in higher education.
n
Strong understanding of TEQSA, HESF, and academic quality standards.
n
Demonstrated ability to lead academic teams, mentor faculty, and implement professional development initiatives.
n
Experience in assessment moderation, student support strategies, and course compliance.
n
Experience in academic administration, compliance, or course coordination.
n
Familiarity with learning management systems and digital learning tools.
n
Knowledge of work-integrated learning (WIL) and industry engagement.
n

Other Requirements
n

Must have legal working rights in Australia.
n
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Children Check
n
Compliance & Quality Assurance: TEQSA and HESF compliance across teaching, curriculum, and assessment.
n
Teaching Oversight: Positive student feedback, retention rates, and assessment outcomes.
n
Faculty Development: Staff engagement in professional learning initiatives.

Operational Success: Timely delivery of schedules, assessments, and faculty coordination.
