What You Will Do
n
n
Deliver hands-on trade training and ensure prisoners are inducted and competent in the safe use of equipment.
n
Develop and review training plans for industry plant and equipment.
n
Supervise production processes, manage quality control, and meet client specifications.
n
Promote and maintain OH&S; compliance in line with ISO ***** standards.
n
Participate in case management by recording engagement and progress.
n
Conduct staff inductions, refresher training, and attend relevant meetings.
n
Maximise training opportunities through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
n
Report incidents and security breaches in accordance with regulations.
n
Support employment pathways for prisoners and assist with vehicle movements when required.
n
Ensure compliance with company policies and governance standards.
n

n
n
Trade Expertise: Relevant qualifications and hands-on experience in timber work.
n
Training & Supervision Skills:
Ability to mentor and instruct in a fair, professional manner.
n
Production Knowledge: Experience managing targets, deadlines, inventory, and quality control.
n
Safety Focus: Strong understanding of OH&S; requirements and secure work practices.
n
Communication Skills: Ability to engage and negotiate with diverse groups effectively.
n
Problem-Solving: Capacity to apply creative solutions and initiate improvements.
n
Technical Ability: Competence in operating a range of machinery and equipment.
n
n
Desirable: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, First Aid certification, and correctional industry experience.
