LAP Construction is an emerging residential builder delivering high-quality homes across regional New South Wales. As part of a vertically integrated property group, we are building a scalable residential construction business with capabilities spanning land development, construction, and steel frame manufacturing.

We're looking for an experienced Residential Design & Drafting Manager to establish and lead our in-house residential design function.
n
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping our future product range and creating market-leading homes for both owner-occupiers and investors.

About the Role
n
Reporting directly to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for managing the design and drafting process from concept through to construction documentation.
n
You will work closely with construction, estimating, engineering and procurement to ensure our homes are practical to build, commercially efficient and aligned with market demand.
n
This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of our product range while establishing best-practice drafting standards across the business.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Develop and refine our range of single-storey, duplex and dual-key homes.
n
Prepare high-quality construction documentation.
n
Coordinate architectural, engineering and consultant documentation.
n
Manage design revisions and respond to construction feedback.
n
Improve buildability and reduce construction issues through better detailing.
n
Develop and maintain standard construction details and drafting standards.
n




Work closely with estimating to improve cost efficiency.
n
Support product innovation and continuous improvement.
n
Manage external consultants where required.
n

About You
n
You will have:
n
n
Extensive residential drafting and design experience.
n
Advanced ArchiCAD and/or Revit skills.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian residential construction methods.
n
Experience producing detailed construction documentation suitable for building approval and construction.
n
The ability to coordinate architectural, engineering and consultant documentation.
n
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
n
A practical understanding of residential construction and buildability.
n
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to refine designs based on construction feedback.
