Job Description
As Our Senior Forest Ranger, You Will
n
n
Work outdoors in state forests and other land tenures assessing and marking trees, inspecting harvesting operations and monitoring environmental and safety standards.
n
Assist with planning and coordinating timber harvesting activities, including preparing operational plans and sale documentation.
n
Build positive relationships with timber operators, contractors, landholders and other stakeholders, providing advice and support on forestry operations.
n
Monitor forestry activities to ensure they are carried out safely, sustainably, and in line with required policies, procedures and operational standards.
n
Contribute to the sustainable management of forest resources by identifying risks, supporting audits and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives.
n
Assist with administering the provisions of the Forestry Act **** and other relevant Acts and Regulations as they impact on DPI Forestry' activities.
n
Use mapping and spatial information systems to support operational planning and decision-making.
n




Safely operate four-wheel drives and other off-road vehicles in remote forest environments and undertake field work in varied terrain.

You May Also Have
n
n
The ability to work outdoors in a physically active role, including walking over uneven terrain and carrying field equipment.
n
Good practical problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
n
Experience with, or the ability to learn, mapping and navigation tools such as ArcGlS, Google Earth, GPS and communication equipment.
n
