Business NSW is seeking a Data Support & Test Engineer to join our Information Communication & Technology team.
n
Reporting to the Data & Integration Manager, this role is responsible for providing ICT support and testing services across Business NSW's data and integration environment, ensuring system stability, reliability and operational performance.
n
The role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, testing and supporting existing platforms across cloud-based and on-premise environments. Working closely with internal stakeholders, technology vendors and the broader ICT team, the successful candidate will support system reliability, data integrity and continuous service improvement.
n
This role plays an important part in maintaining the quality, performance and availability of Business NSW's data and integration services, helping to support critical business operations across the organisation.
n
Main Responsibilities Include
n
n
Monitor, maintain and support ICT systems including Azure-based services and SQL environments to ensure system availability and performance.
n
Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, defects, system issues and data-related problems in accordance with service management processes.
n
Support system deployments by performing testing, validation and operational readiness activities.
n
Execute test cases, test scripts and validation procedures across data and integration systems.
n
Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.
n
Perform data validation,



reconciliation and quality assurance activities to support data accuracy and integrity.
n
Monitor system logs, alerts and performance metrics and elevate issues where appropriate.
n
Maintain technical documentation, testing artefacts, incident records and troubleshooting guides.
n
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support service delivery and issue resolution.
n
Assist with data migration activities through testing and validation activities.
n

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will
n
n
Hold a tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
n
Demonstrate experience in ICT support, application support, systems testing or technology operations environments.
n
Have strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
n
Have experience executing structured testing activities including test cases, defect logging and validation procedures.
n
Possess an understanding of data validation, reconciliation and system integration concepts.
n
Be able to investigate and resolve technical issues across enterprise applications and business systems.
n
Demonstrate strong communication, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
n
Have exposure to Microsoft Azure, SQL environments or cloud-based platforms in a support or testing capacity (desirable).
n




Have an understanding of service management principles and operational support environments.
n
Be committed to continuous improvement, quality assurance and operational excellence.
