Mayday is partnering with a respected organisation within the funeral services sector to recruit a Senior Funeral Consultant based in Geelong.This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organised, and service-driven, with the ability to support families through sensitive and meaningful moments while coordinating and delivering professional funeral services.

The Role
n
As a Senior Funeral Consultant, you will work closely with families and the local team to arrange and conduct dignified funeral services. You will play a key role in ensuring services run smoothly while providing empathetic, professional support to families during their time of need.

Key responsibilities include:
n

Meeting with families to arrange and coordinate funeral services in line with their wishes
n
Conducting and overseeing funeral services with professionalism and respect
n
Providing exceptional customer service to families, clients, and internal stakeholders
n
Supporting day-to-day operations at the Geelong location
n
Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and quality standards
n
Assisting with preparation, coordination, and service delivery as required
n
Contributing to a team-oriented and respectful team environment
n
Supporting health, safety,



and wellbeing standards in the workplace
n

About You
n
Essential:
n
n
Experience in a service-focused environment or ability to quickly learn
n
Current unrestricted driver's licence
n
Comfortable working in circumstances involving death, grief, and deceased persons
n
Strong communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach
n
High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
n
Sensitivity and respect for diverse values, beliefs, and cultural practices
n
Physically and psychologically fit to manage manual handling, stress, and inherent role requirements
n
Willingness to participate in a 1 in 6 weekend on-call roster
n
n
Desirable:
n
n
Exposure to or understanding of the funeral services industry, or willingness to learn
n
Background in hospitality, retail, community services, or other people-focused industries
n
n
