Job Description
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
n Build the platform. Drive the growth. Shape the future.
n Australia-wide expansion | Senior executive prospect | High-growth specialist services business
n
This is not a role for someone who simply wants to run the day-to-day.
n We're looking for a commercially minded Chief Operating Officerto play a pivotal role in taking an ambitious specialist services business to its next level of growth.
n
Working closely with the CEO, you'll become a key architect of the company's expansion — helping turn a successful operation into a scalable, nationally recognised business.
n
With plans to establish a stronger presence across Australia, this is an opportunity to influence where the business goes next, how it operates and ultimately how large it can become.
n
Why this role? You'll have genuine influence.
n
Rather than inheriting a rigid structure, you'll have the opportunity to help build one. You'll identify opportunities, challenge the status quo, develop high-performing teams and put the systems, people and commercial disciplines in place to support significant growth.
n
Your focus will span strategy, operations, people, commercial performance and expansion, working alongside the CEO to turn ambitious plans into measurable results.
n
What you'll be driving
n
n
Help shape and execute the company's national growth strategy
n
Identify new markets, locations and opportunities for expansion
n
Establish and develop high-performing branch and operational teams
n
Build the systems, processes and leadership structure required to scale
n
Strengthen relationships across major mining, resources, infrastructure, construction, energy and industrial markets
n
Develop strategic partnerships, supplier networks and subcontractor relationships
n
Assess potential acquisitions, joint ventures and other growth opportunities
n
Establish meaningful branch-level financial, operational and performance targets
n
Drive consistency across safety, quality, service delivery and operational standards
n
Build a culture where accountability, initiative and high performance are expected
n
Lead workforce planning, recruitment, development and succession
n
Identify inefficiencies and introduce smarter, more scalable ways of working
n
Partner with the CEO on commercial priorities, business performance and major strategic decisions
n
Ensure the business has the structure and capability to support its next stage of growth
n
n
The person we're looking for
n
You'll be an experienced senior leader who combines commercial instinct with operational discipline.
n You know how to build teams, improve performance and turn strategy into execution.
n Just as importantly, you're comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where things move quickly and you're expected to take ownership.
n
We're looking for someone who can:
n
n
Think strategically while remaining close to the operation
n
Lead through influence, accountability and example
n
Make commercially sound decisions using data and sound judgement
n
Build strong relationships with major clients and industry stakeholders
n
Develop leaders rather than create dependency
n
Identify opportunities before they become obvious
n
Navigate complexity and solve problems decisively
n
Bring structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
n
Challenge existing thinking and introduce better ways of working
n
Operate with integrity, energy and a genuine desire to build something significant
n
n
Your opportunity
n
This is a build-and-grow leadership rolewith the potential to leave a lasting mark on the organisation.
n
If you're currently operating at COO, General Manager, Operations Director or another senior executive level — and you're looking for an opportunity where your decisions can directly influence the growth and direction of a business — this could be the next major step in your career.
