We are looking for a reliable, professional and compassionate part-time Medical Receptionist to join our team at FAST Emergency Care Clinic, working weekends.
This is an important role within our clinic, with responsibility for opening and preparing the clinic for the day and ensuring our patients receive a welcoming, calm and efficient experience from the moment they arrive.
Key responsibilities
Opening the clinic and ensuring the reception and patient areas are ready for the day
Greeting and welcoming patients and managing the front desk and waiting room experience
Managing appointments, patient follow-up and specialist referrals
Responding to enquiries via telephone, email, website and in person
Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy
Processing payments, billing and receipting, including MBS claims through the practice management system
Assisting patients with Medicare and billing enquiries
Completing general administrative duties, including scanning, filing and other clinic administration
Maintaining effective office systems and procedures
Providing administrative support to the clinical team as required

As one of the team members responsible for opening the clinic on weekends, we need someone who is dependable,
punctual and comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to the broader team.
You'll bring:
Year 12 or equivalent, with strong literacy, numeracy and general administrative skills
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including a qualified phone manner
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
A high level of reliability, punctuality and personal responsibility
Confidence working independently and taking initiative when required
Confidence using standard computer applications, including email, word processing and spreadsheets
Experience or confidence handling cash and EFTPOS payments
A high level of discretion and respect for patient confidentiality
Availability and commitment to regular weekend shifts
Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration will be highly regarded, particularly knowledge of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and experience with Best Practice/BP Premier or similar practice management software.
