Lead Ranger
Salary: $90,507 to $96,119 per annum plus shift allowance
Plus up to 15% superannuation (conditions apply)

Are you an experienced and confident leader who enjoys working in a dynamic regulatory workplace and supporting teams to deliver excellent customer service?
As Lead Ranger, you will provide guidance, support and practical leadership to a dedicated team of Rangers who help keep the City safe, welcoming and well managed.
The team delivers a broad range of local law and compliance services, including animal investigations, handling and management, parking, litter and verge control, bushfire inspections, beach closures and other community safety activities, ensuring every shift is varied, purposeful and rewarding.
Reporting to the Senior Ranger, you will be the primary contact for employees working outside normal business hours, providing on-the-job training, coordinating daily tasks and supporting fair, responsive and customer-focused outcomes for the community.
This position operates on a roster between 7.00am and 8.30pm, seven days per week.
Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:
High level leadership skills, with the ability to motivate employees.
High level problem solving, conflict resolution and influencing skills, to effectively liaise and negotiate with internal and external parties.
Sound knowledge of and ability to apply acts, regulations, local laws, policies and protocols.




Effective communication skills with proven ability to analyse information and provide clear and concise reports and correspondence.
Demonstrated experience in leading the delivery of customer responsive services in a regulatory environment in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge with handling domestic animals.
Sound knowledge of contemporary people management and work health and safety principles and practices.
Possession of the following is required:
Certificate IV in Local Government Regulatory Services or equivalent experience.
Current Regulatory Officer Compliance Skills (ROCS 1 and 2).
Traffic Management (or obtained within the first 3 months of appointment to position).
Current animal handling training.
Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.
Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011).
Current National Police Clearance (NPC) within the last 3 months.
