An exciting prospect is available for an experienced Engineering Specialist to join a major organisation operating within Australia's aviation technology environment.

This is a long-term contract working with complex, safety-critical operational and communications systems, providing hands-on involvement across the full systems engineering lifecycle.

The Role
n
You'll work within a highly skilled engineering team responsible for the implementation, enhancement and ongoing sustainment of critical technology systems.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
Apply Systems Engineering practices across requirements, design, integration, verification and validation.
n
Support the design, development, testing and implementation of telecommunications systems.
n
Develop technical specifications, system requirements and engineering documentation.
n
Prepare test plans and test cases and participate in system testing and integration activities.
n
Investigate complex technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
n
Monitor system performance, reliability and maintainability.
n
Manage configuration across hardware, software, firmware and documentation.
n
Provide specialist technical expertise across engineering projects.
n
Work closely with engineering, architecture, security, operational teams, vendors and suppliers.
n

About You
n
You'll bring:
n
n
A relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering,



Information Technology, or equivalent.
n
Demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering principles and practices.
n
Strong experience with telecommunications systems, including design, development, testing and implementation.
n
Knowledge of analogue voice/audio components and circuitry.
n
Knowledge of analogue DC control and monitoring signalling components and circuitry.
n
Experience with quality assurance and configuration management.
n
Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
n
Excellent technical documentation skills, including system design and solution architecture documentation.
n
Ability to take ownership and deliver outcomes with limited direction.
n

Highly Desirable
n
Experience or knowledge across any of the following will be highly regarded:
n
n
RPEQ / Professional Engineer registration
n
N-tier architectures and distributed systems
n
Real-time systems
n
Internet technologies
n
Information Security Manual (ISM) principles and controls
n
DO-278A software assurance guidelines
n
n
