Job DescriptionGUNGACT PTY LTD About the Role TSG Gungahlin is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager (General) to oversee the day-to-day operations of our specialist retail store.
The successful applicant will be responsible for managing store operations, stock, purchasing, sales, customer service, staff performance and compliance while maintaining high standards across the business.
Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate the daily operations of the retail store.
Determine appropriate product mix, stock levels and service standards.
Monitor sales, stock movement and customer demand to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Coordinate purchasing, supplier relationships and product ordering.
Assist with pricing strategies and implementation of promotional activities.
Promote the store's products and services while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Provide knowledgeable and professional customer service and assist customers with product enquiries.
Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve store revenue and customer retention.
Maintain accurate stock, sales and financial transaction records.
Conduct regular stock takes and investigate stock discrepancies.
Monitor cash handling, EFTPOS transactions and daily reconciliation procedures.
Assist with budgeting, expense control and financial monitoring.
Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate retail staff where required.
Prepare staff rosters and allocate daily duties to ensure effective store coverage.
Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and training to maintain service standards.
Ensure the store is presented professionally and operates efficiently.
Maintain appropriate workplace health and safety standards.
Ensure store operations comply with applicable retail, tobacco,



age-restriction and other regulatory requirements.
Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures and responsible retailing requirements.
Handle customer complaints and resolve operational issues professionally.
Liaise with suppliers, management and other stakeholders regarding store requirements.
Review operational performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
About You
The successful candidate will have: Minimum 1 year of relevant retail management or supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge of retail store operations.
Experience in stock control, purchasing and inventory management.
Solid customer service and communication skills.
Experience supervising and training retail staff.
Good understanding of sales, cash handling and financial record keeping.
Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities independently.
Strong organisational, problem-solving and leadership skills.
A professional approach to compliance and responsible retailing.
Ability to work flexible retail trading hours, including weekends where required.
