Sales & Customer Service Consultant – 4WD & Auto Electrical
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Perth
Are you passionate about 4WDs, camping, vehicles and auto electrical products — and genuinely enjoy helping people find the right solution?
Elevate Automotive is looking for a Sales & Customer Service Consultant to join our small team in Perth.
This is not a traditional retail sales position.
Our customers often come to us with a problem, a project or an idea, and it's your job to understand what they're trying to achieve, work out the right solution, provide the quote and then see it through from the initial enquiry right through to completion.
Whether the customer contacts us in person, by phone, email or online, you'll be their main point of contact.
The Business
Elevate Automotive is a family-owned auto electrical and adventure business specialising in high-quality electrical systems and accessories for 4WDs, camper trailers, caravans, motorhomes, mining vehicles, trucks and machinery.
We have an auto electrical workshop, parts shop, online store and our own YouTube channel, Ready To Drive Anywhere.
We have built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, technical knowledge and customer service and are known in Perth for providing quality products and properly engineered solutions rather than simply selling whatever is on the shelf.
The Role
We are looking for someone who can confidently deal with a customer from first contact through to vehicle handover.
A typical customer might call asking about a dual-battery system, solar setup, lithium battery, inverter, lighting or a complete touring electrical system.
You'll need to understand what they are trying to achieve, ask the right questions, recommend appropriate products or solutions, prepare a quote and communicate clearly with the customer.
If the job is going into our workshop, you'll then remain involved throughout the process — coordinating with the workshop team, keeping the customer informed, managing changes or additional work and ultimately making sure the customer understands what has been completed when their vehicle is handed back.
You'll be responsible for:
Handling customer enquiries in-store, over the phone, by email and online
Understanding customer requirements and recommending appropriate products and solutions
Providing product advice across batteries, DC-DC chargers, solar, inverters, lighting, power systems and other 12V/24V equipment
Preparing accurate quotes for parts and workshop installations
Following up quotes and converting enquiries into sales
Booking workshop jobs and ensuring the required information is passed to the installation team
Acting as the main point of contact between the customer and workshop
Communicating with customers throughout the job and providing updates when required
Managing variations, additional work and changes to customer requirements
Ordering and coordinating parts required for customer jobs
Processing sales, payments and refunds
Processing online orders and assisting with shipping where required
Assisting customers with product selection and general technical questions
Maintaining accurate customer and job information in our systems
Assisting with stock and general shop administration
Helping with vehicle handover and explaining completed work to customers
Following up customers after jobs and helping resolve any issues
Occasionally featuring in company social media and YouTube content
Other duties as required — we are a small team and everyone helps each other
What we're looking for
The most important thing is that you can take ownership of a customer and their job from beginning to end.
You'll need:
Strong knowledge or a genuine interest in 12V/24V automotive electrical systems
Valuable understanding of products such as lithium batteries, DC-DC chargers, solar, inverters, battery management systems and vehicle lighting
An interest in 4WDs, camping, touring and vehicle fit-outs
Excellent customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication
The ability to ask the right questions and understand what a customer actually needs
The confidence to discuss technical products and solutions with customers
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new software
The ability to prepare accurate quotes and manage multiple jobs at once
The ability to communicate effectively with technicians and understand what is required to complete a job
The ability to follow procedures while also being able to think through problems and find solutions
A strong sense of ownership — if a customer contacts you,
you don't simply pass them on; you take responsibility for getting the issue or enquiry resolved
Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude
The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
A positive, can-do approach
The ability to work well within a small team
Experience that would be highly regarded
Previous experience in automotive sales, auto electrical, 4WD accessories or a similar industry
Auto electrical trade experience or formal training
Experience quoting vehicle electrical installations
Experience with Victron, Redarc, Enerdrive, Intervolt or similar products
Experience with lithium battery and off-grid power systems
Experience working with workshop management, quoting or CRM software
Previous experience in a technical sales or customer service role
You don't need to be a qualified Auto Electrician for this position.
However, you do need to have enough technical understanding — or the ability and willingness to learn — to confidently discuss our products and understand the solutions we're providing to customers.
What we offer
Monday–Friday — no weekends
Competitive salary based on experience
Superannuation
Paid weekly
Staff discounts across our range of products
Ongoing product and technical training
Opportunity to develop your knowledge of 4WD and off-grid electrical systems
Variety — every customer and vehicle is different
A supportive, non-competitive team environment
The opportunity to work alongside experienced Auto Electricians and a Mechatronics Engineer
A small business where your contribution genuinely matters
The opportunity to work with some of Australia's leading 4WD and adventure products and projects
This role will suit someone who...
Enjoys talking to people, likes solving problems and gets satisfaction from seeing a customer go from "I'm not sure what I need" to "That's exactly what I was looking for."
You don't have to know everything on day one.
But you do need to be curious, willing to learn and prepared to take ownership of the customer experience.
At Elevate, we're not interested in simply selling a customer a product.
We want to understand what they're trying to achieve and provide the right solution.
If you think you'd be a good fit for the team, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note that salary will depend on the experience and knowledge you bring to the role and will be discussed during the interview process.
