Are you an experienced Welder with rope-access qualifications or relevant rope-access experience?
Our client is seeking skilled Welders to join its specialist team, delivering welding, installation, maintenance and repair services in challenging industrial environments across Queensland and New South Wales.Successful candidates will be based in, or willing to relocate to, Rockhampton and must be available to travel to project sites as required.About the roleAs a Welder, you will be responsible for joining, repairing and maintaining metal components and structures using appropriate welding processes.
Some work will be undertaken at heights using rope-access techniques.Studying drawings, specifications and work instructions to determine welding requirementsSelecting, preparing, measuring and aligning metal components for weldingSetting up and operating welding equipment using appropriate processes, including MIG, TIG, MMAW or flux-cored welding as requiredWelding metal components in flat, vertical and overhead positionsInspecting weld preparations, welds and completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, procedures and quality standardsUsing thermal cutting, grinding and gouging equipment to prepare joints and finish welded componentsRepairing cracks, defects and damaged metal components and structuresPerforming welding, repair and maintenance work at heights using rope-access systemsMaintaining welding equipment and ensuring tools are safe and serviceableComplying with workplace health and safety procedures, hot-work permits and site requirementsWorking collaboratively with rope-access technicians,



supervisors and other tradespeopleSkills and experienceTo be considered for this position, you should have:A relevant welding trade qualification, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade, or an equivalent qualificationDemonstrated experience working as a WelderA current IRATA, SPRAT or equivalent rope-access qualification, or relevant practical rope-access experienceDemonstrated experience with relevant welding processes, such as MIG, TIG, MMAW or flux-cored weldingThe ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols and specificationsExperience using welding machines, thermal cutting equipment, grinders, hand tools and power toolsA strong understanding of workplace health and safety and hot-work requirementsThe physical ability and willingness to work safely at heights and in industrial environmentsGood communication, teamwork and problem-solving skillsA willingness to travel to project sites as requiredRelevant welding certifications or tickets, additional high-risk work licences, confined-space certification, working-at-heights training or rescue qualifications will be highly regarded.This is an prospect to join a specialist company working on technically challenging projects in a safety-focused and supportive environment.If you are interested, please apply now!
