About the role
Do you have experience in waste collection and are looking for versatile work that fits around your other commitments?
The City of Swan's Waste Services team is looking for experienced people to join our casual workforce.
These positions provide relief during periods of leave and support the team on an ad hoc basis when operational demand increases.
There is no fixed roster, providing the flexibility to pick up work when shifts are available and suit your availability.
The ability to pick up shifts at short notice is highly desirable due to the nature of casual work.
Applicants with waste collection experience are encouraged to apply.
Our Waste Team does a fantastic job managing the delivery of refuse and recycling services across the City.
These services include kerbside collection for both domestic and commercial properties, bulk verge collections, and the servicing of litter bins in parks, reserves and streets.
The team also oversees district clean-up efforts for illegal dumping and littering.
Additionally, the City operates two Recycling Centres located in Malaga and Bullsbrook, which receive and manage waste and recyclable materials for processing.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
Safely operate a variety of plant and equipment, including Side Loaders and Rear Loaders
Manual handling
Customer Service
Keep work areas clean and tidy ensuring a safe working environment, including site clean-up and litter control
Use a two-way radio
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
Available to work weekdays, with shifts generally falling between 5:30am and 3:30pm, sometimes with minimal notice provided, due to the nature of casual work
Current HR Driver's Licence (manual)
A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)




This opportunity may suit someone looking for occasional work, greater flexibility around their existing commitments, or the opportunity to pick up additional shifts as they become available.

The hourly rate for this position will be from $***** to $***** depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant, plus 25% casual loading.
