Thor Mechanical WA is seeking a skilled and experienced
Light Vehicle Mechanic
to join our team in Stake Hill, WA ****.
This is a
full-time position
working Monday to Friday, offering a stable and rewarding career in the automotive trades.
You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing light vehicles to the highest professional standards, ensuring our clients receive reliable and quality service.
This role is central to our business operations, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and the reputation of Thor Mechanical WA.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in light vehicles using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise
Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and brake inspections
Repair and replace vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems
Conduct pre-delivery inspections and quality checks to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards
Complete service reports and documentation accurately, including work performed and parts used
Communicate with customers regarding vehicle condition, recommended repairs, and cost estimates
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
Stay current with vehicle technology and repair techniques through ongoing professional development
What we're looking for




A recognised automotive mechanical qualification or apprenticeship completion in light vehicle mechanics
Minimum 2-3 years' practical experience working as a light vehicle mechanic in a professional workshop environment
Demonstrated proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment used in contemporary vehicle servicing
Strong knowledge of engine systems, braking systems, electrical systems, and suspension components
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and workshop documentation
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when diagnosing and repairing vehicles
Valid driver's licence and willingness to undertake test drives as required
A commitment to health and safety compliance and best practice in the workshop
Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customer interaction
Reliability and a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
